Pilates is named after its inventor, Joseph Pilates, who developed the exercises in the 1920s. In order to formulate his ideas he studied across a range of different sports and exercise disciplines. Joseph Pilates realized that most of us over develop the stronger muscle groups of the body, which ultimately leads to imbalance, better known as poor posture and spinal misalignment.
The primary focus of the Pilates method is strengthening the abdominal and back muscles that provide support, flexibility and power for the entire body. Targeting the deep postural muscles, Pilates works by building strength from the inside out, rebalancing the body and bringing it to correct alignment.
The exercises feature slow, deliberate, rhythmic movements with a very mindful emphasis on breathing and concentration. The quality of movement is valued over quantity of repetitions. Pilates is a full body conditioning system that simultaneously builds strength, increases flexibility and endurance while improving breathing, balance and posture. You will develop acute body awareness that allows for performance of life's daily activities with greater ease.
Paula Carper has been a Registered Dietitian since 1996. In that time, she has provided nutritional counseling to thousands of people and has learned that no two are the same. Even as an identical twin herself, Paula recognizes the uniqueness and the “bio-individuality” that we each possess. After years of struggling with the “one size fits all” dietary advice of the modern establishment, she returned to her roots of wellness promotion and health building through traditional foods and methods. In 2005, she began reviewing time-honored and alternative health and nutrition literature, and incorporating the simple and practical wisdom of traditional foods into her practice. Her passion for health through whole food nutrition, along with the results she was seeing, inspired her to begin her own private practice where she hopes to serve thousands more in their pursuit of optimal health and wellness.

Xtend Barre Creator Andrea Rogers and Director of Education Laurie Alfano have created an incredible Xtend Barre Stick repertoire that utilizes a dowel type apparatus and spring based resistance attached to the Xtend ballet barre. The workout, like Xtend Barre, is comprised of a cardio warm-up, an upper-body segment, lower-body segment, and abdominal focus. The workout draws upon the Xtend Barre fundamentals, chiseling every angle of the body in an intense cardio sculpting workout, but with the spring based resistance, the Xtend Barre stick class adds the challenge of Pilates stability, cardio conditioning, and core training.

Dwayne Credor, CFO
Dwayne joined the Studio Pilates team in 2005 as Chief Financial Officer. In this role he is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of Studio Pilates, LTD. His duties include financial planning and monitoring cash flow. He analyzes the studio's financial strengths and weaknesses and suggests plans for improvement. In 2005 Dwayne married the studio's CEO Jana Credor and they live in College Station with their puppy Pollyanna.

Andrea discovered a passion for dance at a very young age. Growing up she was primarily trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop, not experiencing Modern dance until College. It took a couple years, but eventually Andrea fell in love with Modern and to this day continues to perform, train and choreograph primarily in this genre with the Brazos Dance Collective.
Andrea did not experience any Pilates work until one summer in college when she and her mother purchased a small DVD set. She thoroughly enjoyed the workout and immediately found how beneficial it was for her dance training, however she would not have the opportunity to become certified as an instructor until February of 2012. Through her education she learned not only how beneficial Pilates could be for dancers, but for anyone and everyone! In April of 2012 Andrea partook in the Xtend Barre training program, was certified by that summer and hasn’t looked back. In the summer of 2013 she was excited to also obtain her certification in Xtend Barre Stick. One of the main things Andrea loves about Pilates and Xtend Barre is how accessible they are. These exercise method can be adjusted on a need to need basis so each client feels challenged.
Andrea is hoping to continue with her Pilates education, eventually becoming certified on multiple Pilates apparatuses. She loves teaching at Studio Pilates Ltd and considers herself blessed to get to do what she loves on a weekly basis with an amazing and supportive team!
Xtend Barre Certified Instructor
Growing up, Iva was interested in almost every sport she encountered and was constantly thriving to stay active. It wasn’t until after high school that Iva discovered Barre classes when she was employed at a local Barre and Pilates studio in Houston. She liked working as the front desk attendant, but her real desire was to be an instructor. She loves motivating people and seeing them reach their full potential. After Iva moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M University, she finally decided to begin her journey to become an instructor. When she came to College Station she found Studio Pilates where she discovered the Xtend Barre method. She immediately fell in love with Xtend Barre because it challenged her body more than any other form of exercise. Dancing was the one thing Iva had never tried in her childhood and had always regretted not learning the art form, so she was thrilled when she was able to learn while training to become an instructor. Iva became certified by Power Pilates in Beginner Mat October 2013, and received her Xtend Barre certification in January 2014.

Anda is a licensed and certified Radiologic Technologist performing cat scans at Bryan Radiology. Anda has always enjoyed exercise and dance. She's an instructor with years of experience, specializing in training of all levels. Anda became friends with Jana Credor and was introduced to Pilates. She has been in love with the method ever since. Anda completed her Pilates Beginner Mat Certification in 2010. She loves the opportunity to reach out to her community to share health and fitness benefits through her classes. Her passion for fitness motivates and supports clients in achieving their personal goals.
